We are a husband/wife team who have been professional software designers for more than 20 years each. We've developed both large and small systems for individuals, small and large businesses.

More importantly, we are the parents of 2 children, 13 and 12 years of age, who have been in Montessori schools since they were 2 and 3 years old. We believe in the Montessori method.

While volunteering in our daughters' classrooms, we noticed how much time teachers spent on record keep
ing. In 2002 we began building MRX for one elementary teacher.

After 2 years of development, with input from over a dozen teachers from early education through elementary, and encouragement from these teachers, we offered a Microsoft Access based version of MRX to others.

Over the next several years we presented at numerous schools, conferences and training centers. We made several presentations at the Illinois Statewide Montessori Conference in 2004. We presented 3 times to students at the Midwest Teacher Training Center (Louise and Dr. Michael Kunert) in the Chicago area. We also presented to teacher trainees at the Dallas Montessori Teacher Programs (Dina and Jim Paulik) in 2005 and the Houston Montessori Center (Dr. Betsy Coe and Gretta Yeager) in 2004 and 2005.

In August of 2005, we began building a new version of MRX from the ground up. It would be a web based subscription service, accessible from any Internet-connected computer.

The new web based version debuted at both the 2006 NCME conference in San Diego and the AMS conference in Houston. Between these two conferences, we conducted three presentations to a total of nearly 400 people. We also had an exhibit booth at both conferences. The response was overwhelming positive.

The goal of MRX from the beginning has been to free Montessori teachers from much of the burden of record keeping. We have attempted to design a solution so simple to use, you can complete your record keeping while in class. That means your lunch time is yours and when you go home for the day, your record keeping is done.
